The Kimberley Diamond Cup is Back!
23 September 2013

It's that time of year again, folks! Some of the world's best skateboarders will descend upon Kimberley to show off some mad skill and compete against each other for some sick prizes.

That's right. The legends at Ultimate X are bringing us the Kimberley Diamond Cup (formerly known as the Maloof Money Cup) in the Northern Cape capital this weekend. Prepare to be in the company of skating legends such as Dlamini Dlamini and Jean Marc Johannes as well some of the best that international skating has to offer!

I attended the event last year and it was such a jol! Not only will the skating blow your mind, but the entertainment includes some of South Africa's best muso's, including the fabulously talented Toya De Lazy.

Also, the best thing about this year's event is that there will be a women's event. That's right! The skater girls (including Cape Town's, Melissa Williams and Durban's, Bexx Sneddon) are taking over Kimberley! The line-up for the Kimberley Diamond Cup has been expanded to include a women’s amateur street contest as well as an amateur vert contest.  Both competitions will take place at the Kumba Skate Plaza in Kimberley on Thursday, 26 September, and are guaranteed to further boost the growth of skateboarding in the country.

Tickets are selling fast at Computicket, so get your grubby paws on some! If you can't make it, the event will be broadcast on Supersport, so tune in for some heart-racing action!

You can also keep up with KDC on Twitter and Facebook and follow the #KDCskate hashtag. So amped!
