Yeah yeah, I know it’s past halfway, but it’s been a manic few weeks.
I’ll be completely honest with you – I am nowhere near where I thought I would be halfway through 2019. I set goals for myself at the beginning of the year and I reevaluated them in March, and I just have not achieved them. And it sucks. It really fucking sucks.
I beat myself up about it because I am my biggest critic and I’m extremely hard on myself. But after getting down on myself, I realised what I have done. I’ve managed to put in place very helpful building blocks to get where I want to be.
A few of these include:
- I’ve implemented new HR processes at STIR to assist with deliverables and accountability.
- I’ve brought in new task management tools to manage our clients and to-do lists. If you’re looking for a great one, shout out to monday.com.
- I’ve drawn up revised SLAs for new clients.
- Lastly, mentally, I’ve done a complete 180 since the beginning of the year, making room for positive thinking and growth.
I know that all of these building blocks will help me manage growth when it comes. It’s definitely a ‘when’ and not an ‘if’. At the end of the day, as cheesy as it sounds, I know that I’m exactly where I need to be and I need to reevaluate the goals incrementally and adjust the timeline accordingly in order to achieve them.
Here’s to the rest of 2019!
I’m curious… Do you set goals? Are you where I am or have you achieved them? Let me know 🙂
